The Face-O-Mat is an analogue and demountable portrait machine with which the artist Tobias Gutmann travels the world. The framework, consisting of mono-material parts is interlocked when mounted. Taken apart in return, makes it more convenient for traveling since it allows the machine to fit in the biggest standardized suitcase sizes for commercial flights. A roller blind which not only covers the portrait while being drawn but also serves the purpose of facilitating a memorable moment when the portrait is handed over to the portrayed.
