The Pischa apartment is a fully remodeled holiday home in the Swiss Alps.

Stripped down to its bare brick, the renovation introduced natural, breathable materials like lime plaster, oak flooring, and pure wool fabrics, enhancing both the living experience and air quality while integrating seamlessly into the tranquil alpine setting.

Removing the original kitchen and its brick walls opened the space to more natural light, creating a bright, uncluttered, and airy atmosphere. Unlike conventional kitchens, the new design embraces customized proportions, featuring oversized drawers and a large sliding door shelf that provide ample storage and improved accessibility while maintaining a minimalist appearance.

A full-height sliding oak door replaces the existing door and lintel, creating a clear visual passage from the back wall to the front of the apartment. When closed, it encapsulates the pure wool elements of the sleeping area, providing warmth in winter and a tactile serenity when waking or going to bed.

A custom stem, aligned with a small window, transitions into the low seating area, adding a subtle yet practical architectural feature. It provides space for books, plants, lamps, or pictures without the need for additional furniture.
